Lewis County Farm Bureau is pleased to support the Washington Ag in the Classroom (WAIC) program.  We took on the task of introducing the magazine to every 4th grade teacher in the county in both public and private schools and are tremendously happy with the results--we went from one participant in Lewis County to 42.  The teachers tell us they like the format and the content of the three magazines per school year that are mailed to them free of charge.  Statewide, the magazine goes to 21,000 students.

WAIC has two additional projects.  The literacy project was launched with the goal of educating K-4th grade students about agriculture and the Newspaper in Education project was published in the Seattle Times in April 2014 and again in 2015.  It is an 8-page agricultural supplement in the Sunday paper being read by 1/2 million people.
